HB 164 — GOVSIGN - Truck Weight Limits: Removing Sunset

This legislation removes the sunset (expiration) on the Truck Weight Increase Legislation that was passed in 2023 (HB 189). 

As introduced, this legislation allows for trucks carrying agricultural commodities to travel at road weights up to 88,000 lbs, a 4,000 lbs increase above any other commodity type. 

Key Limiting Provisions are Still Included in this Legislation such as, 

• non-attainment zone exclusion (cannot drive into metro Atlanta)
• 150-mile point of origin limitation of product delivery 
• commodity restriction (ag products only)
