HB 260 — Ad Valorem Taxes: Increase Statewide Homestead Exemption

House Bill 260 would raise the statewide ad valorem homestead exemption from $2,000 to $5,000. Following approval by the Governor, the bill would have to be approved by voters statewide in the November 2026 election. If approved by voters, the bill would then become effective on January 1, 2027.
