The language of the original bill was substituted out in House committee and replaced to include the original language of SB 163 regarding penalties associated with the firearm regulation preemption. The current bill enhances the enforcement mechanisms and penalties that apply to local governments that act to regulate firearms and other weapons in violation of the blanket preemption currently in Georgia law.
