HB 1377 — DID NOT CROSS Transit SPLOST: Election Time Limits

The substitute to HB 1377, LC 39 5019S, would prohibit mass transportation sales taxes from being used to provide free or reduced fares for public transit. The bill would also allow for a county to place a transit special purpose local option sales tax (Transit SPLOST) or question concerning general obligation debt for special districts within nonattainment areas on the ballot eight years later if the first ballot measures do not pass.
